The newly upgraded range of 3E luminaires, sealed to IP54 with improved reflector technology, now qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances along with the open version. Traditionally, the diffuser has reduced the overall efficacy of the fitting; however, by significantly improving the reflector design by using the latest technology, requirements of the ECA have been exceeded.
The new range of luminaires is available with dimmable control gear, built in three hour emergency packs, if required, and with the remotely programmable individual luminaire mounted movement detectors/photocells. 3E can advise on how small and medium size enterprises can qualify for interest-free loans on these or any other qualifying luminaires in the 3E range.

3E have recently delivered the luminaires and lighting controls for the lighting upgrade of a secondary school, including the class rooms, corridors and assembly hall. The new luminaires, complete with lighting controls and including the installation, fall within the requirements of SALIX funding, allowing the school to borrow the capital required interest-free, while benefitting from a new, modern lighting system with an energy saving of between 64% to 75%, saving over 41 kW of load.

3E are supplying over 450 MHPPB 249 luminaires for the re-lighting of a factory of one of the world's principal suppliers of consumables to the printing industry. Each fitting incorporates its own individually remotely programmable detector with photocell, to increase the lighting levels while maximising the opportunity to switch the fittings off when they are not required. The projected savings are in excess of £60,000 per year, with a load reduction of 83kW saving 725,000 kilo Watt hours. All of the luminaires, the detectors and the installation costs are covered by an Enhanced Capital Allowance.
The award winning County Museum in Aylesbury has recently refurbished two existing rooms to add to its learning zone facilities. The museum is located in the old part of Aylesbury, with parts of the building dating back to 1473. The museum itself is made up of several buildings including the Coach House, which houses the Roald Dahl collection. The new learning zones are located in the more recent Church House building which dates back to 1840, with the second room being added in 1907.
The concept behind the new lighting installation was to replace the existing fittings with a more subtle, unobtrusive lighting scheme that provided the flexibility of dimmable control. The up-lighting and down-lighting needed to be controlled independently, while incorporating a new emergency lighting system. Despite the building’s age and irregular walls, the 3E lighting system has blended discreetly into the existing building while providing the required ambiance for the various activities that take place in the rooms, ranging from exhibitions to conferences and classes to private functions.
